Admission to First Year
Rules For Admission
(As per the Government of Maharashtra Notification No. 1 0/ADG/1 093/1225, dated 17/06/93)
- The rules modified by the Government from time to time shall be applicable.
- These rules are applicable for the admission to First Year Diploma Courses in Engg.
- The admission shall be effected by the Principal, Vamanrao Ithape Polytechnic, Sangamner
Qualifying Examination and Eligibility
For admission to first year of Diploma Courses, the candidates must have passed
Secondary School Certificate Examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary
School Certificate Examination or any other equivalent Examination with
- General Science or Physics and Chemistry
- Elementary Mathematics or Algebra and Geometry and
-
English, wit least 50 percent marks (350 out of 700) in aggregate (at least 45 percent
marks for Backward Class candidates (3l5 out of 700) in aggregate from recognized
schools in Maharashtra State its equivalent.
How to Apply
The candidate shall submit their applications complete in all respect, in the
prescribed printed form together with necessary documents to the Principal, Vamanrao
Ithape Polytechnic, Sangamner so as to reach his office within10 days (by 5.00 p.m.
of the 10th day) from the date of declaration of the results of S.S.C Examination of
Maharashtra State Board. Application form is enclosed with this brochure.

Application must be filled in by the candidate in his/her own handwriting and
must be signed by the candidate himself/herself along with declaration signed
by his/her Father/Guardian.

Candidate should clearly indicate his/her priority for the branch of engineering
and the application will be processed accordingly. Candidate will not be allowed
to make any change in it, once the application is submitted.
Nationality
Unless stated otherwise in these rules, the candidates must be Indian national.
Age Limit For Admission
There shall not be age limit for admission.
Reservations
i) Reservation for Backward Classes:
As per the Notification of the “Department of Higher and Technical Education and
Employment” of Govt. of Maharashtra vide No. TEM/1594/63030/TE-1 dated 3/06/1994
the reservation of seats for admission in Vamanrao Ithape Polytechnic, Sangamner shall be
as under –

ii) Female Candidates (FE):
There shall be 30% seats reserved for female candidates in the course where the seats
for open for male as well as female candidates

The seats reserved for female candidates shall have further reservation among
themselves for the categories mentioned above and as per rule.
iii) Technical Candidates (TE):
There shall be 15% seats reserved for the candidates taking Technical Subjects(s) as
prescribed by the Board of Technical Examination, Maharashtra State and passing
therein in the Secondary School Certificate Examination with qualifying marks as
per rule.
For deciding the merit of such candidates, the marks scored by the candidate in the
S.S.C Examination without considering the marks scored by him in the Technical
Subject(s) shall be considered.
The seats reserved for these candidates shall have further reservation among then
selves for the other categories as per rule.
iv) Management Quota
As per [GR 2003 (133/2003) - Tech. Ed. 1 dated 16/04/2003] is 20 percent.
Special Provision for admission of outside State Candidate in unaided Polytechnic:
If, after exhaustion of the general merit list of the candidates from Maharashtra
State there are some seats vacant in the unaided polytechnic, the candidates from
the other states and Union Territories may be considered by preparing a separate
merit list of these candidates these admissions shall be done by the Principal,
Vamanrao Ithape Polytechnic, Sangamner.
Admission for Non Residents Indian (NRI) / Foreign Nationals (FN) / Persons of Indian
Origin (PIO):
As per the notification of AICTE vide notification no. 37/3/legal/2004 dated 21st Jan
2004 published in the gazette of India extraordinary (part-3 Section 4) on 26th
Feb.2004 the Government has approved the quota for the above categories as 15% of
the sanctioned seats (for further details contact Principal, Vamanrao Ithape
Polytechnic, Sangamner.)
Selection
-
Selection for admission shall be made strictly on the basis of the inter-se-merit
of the candidate

The Principal I Head of the Institution shall be responsible for affecting the
admission accordance with these rules.
Application and Documents:
No application other than that provided with this prospectus shall be considered and
application will be considered unless it is accompanied by attested copies of the
following documents:
a) General
- Medical Certificate in the prescribed Performa (in original).
- Certificate of Indian Nationality issued by a competent authority or by a Revenue Office not below the rank of Tahsildar.
- Certificate of passing of the qualifying examination and true copy of the statement of marks
- Certificate of passing of H. S. C. or M. C. V. C. Examination with statement of marks necessary
- School/Institute Leaving Certificate, in original, of the last Institute attended.
- Certificate of birth date, if birth date is not mentioned in school or institute leaving-certificate
- Certificate of the passing Intermediate Grade Drawing Examination wherever applicable.

Father’s / Mother’s domicile certificate if candidate has not appeared and passed S. S.
C. Examination and Studied two preceding academic years from school located in Maharashtra
State.
b) For candidates belonging to Backward Classes
- Certificate to support his claim as backward class candidate in specified form and from specified authority.

Certificate issued by the competent authority stating that the candidates parents do
not belong to creamy layer, as per relevant orders of the Government of Maharashtra
c) For candidates who have not passed qualifying examination from institutions in Maharashtra State
- Domicile certificate in respect of father/mother of the candidate
d) For candidate who are children of Central Government employees

Transfer order showing the date of transfer and the date of joining of father or
mother of the candidate as the case may be.
e) For candidate who are children of non-resident Indians originating from Maharastra
-
Certificate of passing the qualifying examination from an institution outside India.

Domicile certificate in respect of the father/parent of the candidate.

Certificate from the Indian Diplomatic Mission Chancellery or Commission abroad that
father/parent of the candidate is of Indian origin from Maharashtra and at present
residing in that country.
Direct Admission to Second Year:
Direct admission to Third Semester / Second year (applicable only for Engineering &
Technology Diploma)
A candidate passing H. S. C. Examination (Standard XII) with Technical Subjects, Bifocal Course, M. C. V. C. of the Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education shall be eligible for direct admission to third semester for semester pattern courses or second year for yearly pattern courses of a Diploma course in Engineering and Technology, against the seats created solely for this purpose, subject to the conditions hereunder.

He has passed standard XII with minimum qualifying marks as notified by admission authority with and in vocational technical subjects

A candidate passing I. T. I. Examination with minimum qualifying marks as notified by admission authority, after passing S. S. C. with & in English, Science & Mathematics subjects.

A candidate passing standard XII examination with M. C. V. C. with minimum qualifying marks as notified by Government from time to time.

All such eligible candidates will get admission to third semester for semester pattern courses or second year for yearly pattern courses in respective diploma courses only.

Any other condition/s that may be prescribed by the Government and may prevail at the time of these admissions.
Note :
-
A student will have to pay all the prescribed fees in the office of the Polytechnic immediately on granting him the admission, failing which the seat will be offered to the next eligible candidate on the merit list.

No reservation of seats exists for direct admission and transfer admission.
